Nutritional advice based on a bioimpedance analysis

The aim of our programme is individual, medical nutritional advice based on measured values, and it has three components. First, we carry out a bioimpedance analysis with the employees. Nutritional advice follows, drawing on the results of that examination. Employees can then view all recommendations and a good deal more information through our portal, and can also watch videos on healthy eating or on how much to drink.

Bioimpedance analysis

Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), also called bioimpedance measurement, is a scientifically recognised and well-established method that allows a comprehensive analysis of an individual's body composition. It can be used to assess nutritional status and fitness in relation to age and sex. It also provides information on fluid balance and optimal vitality (body cell mass). Because it is quick, free of side effects and straightforward to carry out, the method suits not only a one-off measurement but also trend analysis and monitoring of therapy. BIA is currently used above all in sports and nutritional medicine, for example when starting and monitoring weight-loss programmes, for early detection of malnutrition and for individual fluid balance assessment. Bioimpedance also has a wide range of uses in training management, in both competitive and recreational sport.

Nutritional advice

A balanced diet and sufficient fluid intake promote health and wellbeing and support mental and physical performance. The food circle offers a simple, quick way to find your bearings. It shows at a glance what makes up a wholesome diet containing all essential nutrients, and it supports healthy food choices. Combined with the measured values, the advice sets out how specific goals can be reached. These goals can include:

- Correcting a fluid deficit
- Improving fitness
- Reducing excess weight

Nutrition portal

Employees can find out more about healthy eating through our nutrition portal. It offers recipes, cooking videos and plenty of other information on healthy eating and enough physical activity.
